July 4th Remodel Inspiration ...

It doesn't take much to add some "fireworks" to an existing entryway.

Some small changes and additions make this a simple, yet elegant entrance,
with Curb Appeal that really "pops".

Notice the suttle changes?
. Hanging pendant light and iron railing to frame, balance and create a focal point
. Potted seasonal plants, greenery and mat to add color, softness and a welcoming feeling
. Special occasion decor (tributes) to add an appealing entry theme

Around the Block on July 4th ... Perfect!

A Patriotic Door ... Happy 4th!

"And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave ..."

Wonderful to see a Signature Entries client proudly fly the flag
at their new entry ...

Wouldn't this be just perfect for their July 4th Family Celebration!

"O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!"

Happy Independence Day!

He never looks for praises, he's never one to boast
He just goes on quietly working, For those he loves the most.
His dreams are seldom spoken, His wants are very few
And most of the time his worries, Will go unspoken too.
He's there, a firm foundation, through all our storms of life
A sturdy hand to hold to, In times of stress and strife.
A true friend we can turn to, when times are good or bad
One of our greatest blessings, The man that we call Dad.

CURB APPEAL 101: Keeping Iron Doors Looking Great

Keeping Your Iron Entry Door
Looking Great For Ultimate Curb Appeal
is as Simple as 1-2-3 ..

Wrought Iron Doors Require
Virtually No Year-to-Year Maintenance.

Your front entry door makes the ultimate statement when it comes to Curb Appeal.
For many, it's a pain and an added expense to maintain, so it goes
to the bottom of the list of things to do.

Wrought iron doors require virtually no yearly maintenance - only a
light "housekeping" once or twice a year - we suggest Spring and Fall.

Unlike wood doors, iron doors DO NOT require yearly touch-ups, refinishing or painting.
Our iron doors have ball bearing hinges with grease fittings that are pre-loaded at
the time of manufacture - so NO grease maintenance is required.

Iron Door To Do List ...
Here are our tips to keep your Iron Door
"Curb-Appeal Perfect" Year Round:
1 ~
Using a hand blower, blow the door exterior to remove any pollen and dust;
You can also use a dry cloth or a damp cloth to wipe down the
exterior and interior of the door and door hardware.
(Use water only - NO chemical solutions)

2 ~
Open the operable glass panels and clean the glass using a solution of vinegar and water;
("Windex" type products are also good)

3 ~
Hang a Seasonal or Special Ocassion Wreath

That's It!

A Memorial Day Tribute ...

Red, white and blue
For those we knew
Who marched off to war.
We honor them now
And show them how
Their bravery we can't ignore.

Heroes of war,
They were so much more,
Father and brother and friend.
Flags at half mast
For those of the past
To whom our gratitude we send.

We place flowers on the graves
Of those who were brave,
We salute them far and wide.
Seeing poppies galore
While our hearts soar,
remembering proudly those who have died.

A Mother's Day Message ...

M - O - T - H - E – R
~ Howard Johnson (c. 1915)

"M" is for the million things she gave me, "O" means only that she's growing old,
"T" is for the tears she shed to save me, "H" is for her heart of purest gold;
"E" is for her eyes, with love-light shining, "R" means right, and right she'll always be,
Put them all together, they spell "MOTHER,"
A word that means the world to me.

Count Down To 2012 ...

New Beginnings ...

January is named after Janus (Ianuarius),
the god of the doorway; the name has its beginnings
in Roman mythology, coming from the Latin word for door (ianua).
January is the door to the year ...

2012 is at the door. New Year ceremonies are designed
to get rid of the past and to welcome the future.
Remember life is short, break the rules, forgive quickly, love truly,
laugh uncontrollably, and never regret anything that made you smile.
Resolutions ...

We spend January 1 walking through our lives, room by room,
drawing up a list of work to be done, cracks to be patched.
Maybe this year, to balance the list,
we ought to walk through the rooms of our lives ...
not looking for flaws, but for potential.
~Ellen Goodman

You must not for one instant
give up the effort to build new lives for yourselves.
Creativity means to push open the heavy, groaning doorway to life.
This is not an easy struggle.
Indeed, it may be the most difficult task in the world,
for opening the door to your own life is, in the end,
more difficult than opening the door to the mysteries of the universe.
~Daisaku Ikeda

We will open the book. Its pages are blank.
We are going to put words on them ourselves.
The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year's Day.
